Export Documentation

Export Documents - for exporting from TimeTabler into your MIS / Admin System:

To get the latest step-by-step documentation for transferring your completed timetable from TimeTabler into SIMS .net, Progresso, iSAMS / Ed:gen, Arbor, SchoolBase, Bromcom, SEEMiS, RM Integris, WCBS PASS/3Sys/HUBmis, Engage, etc, etc ... just click on:  Export-documentation

It is in 3 parts:

 1   Preparing

A document to use at the start of the timetabling process, so that you can ensure that your data is correct without unnecessary editing later.
The main requirement is that the Staff Initials, Subjects, and Room Names must be identical (at the Export stage) in TimeTabler and in your MIS Admin System.

The document that explains this in detail is called  Export-Doc-1.
Use this at the start, when you are entering your data.

 2   Exporting from TimeTabler

The step-by-step export of the data from TimeTabler is covered in this document.

You should consider a 2-stage export (double-export).  Consider whether you should do a  first export  after you have your activity-data entered correctly in Batches in TimeTabler, but before you have done the schedule.
The advantage of this approach, if your MIS allows it (eg. SIMS net does), is that then the names of the TeachingGroups are loaded into the MIS and so your admin colleagues in the office can begin allocating students to the TeachingGroups, (and using the correct TeachingGroupNames), without having to wait until you have finished the timetable before they can start.

Note that this approach (even if your MIS allows it) relies on the curricular structure staying the same until the final export of the completed timetable. (The final export then exports the scheduled time-slots, staff and rooms for the previously-exported TeachingGroup names.)

 3   Importing into your MIS

We try to provide detailed guidance on the import to your MIS, either providing documents that we have prepared or documents provided by the MIS company.

Because the documentation changes from time to time, even during the timetabling season (an MIS may change their specification) it is wise to download the latest version of each part of the documentation again just before you do the export.
