Zarraga's Rule
Zarraga's Rule can be employed on your Curriculum before you start scheduling, and is a complex but often useful analysis of how your teacher-teams interact between your 'Pure classes' (typically in lower years) and your Blocks (in higher years).
It can give you some extra insight before you start scheduling.
The formal statement of the rule is:
As far as possible, teachers who are members of the same teacher team in one part of the school should be allocated to different classes for pure class activity in another part of the school.
TimeTabler will run this analysis for you - go to 'Check & Validate -> Zarraga's Rule':
If you wish to learn more, a fuller analysis of what Zarraga means is available in our book: A Timetabler's CookBook - available from here.
