How can I check my Batches, before scheduling?

Checking your Activity Batches

When you've typed your data for a Year-group into a Batch, you should Test it, to check that the data in the Batch is entered correctly, before you start using the Batch in your schedule. To do this, visit the 'Check & Validate' section of TimeTabler.

You'll find lots of ways to check your Batches / Curriculum ... but here are 6 of the most important  and popular tests:

1.  Curriculum Diagram Screen
2.  Statistics Screen

3.  Staff Loading Chart

4.  Combing Chart
5.  Global Dayblocking Screen

... and the most important of all:
6.  Run a quick 'dummy' schedule, just for one Year by itself, to check that it can be scheduled.
(There are several other tests, too, which you may like to run if you have time).

Full details of these tests are given in a separate 4-page article which you can download as a PDF by clicking on:

You should do this for each Year in turn.   Because if a Year won't work by itself then you won't be able to get a timetable solution when you try to schedule all the years together.  You need to look at the problems in this year first, and resolve them before you start scheduling.   If you have any problems doing this, please ask for help on the Support Centre.
