What is the best way to clear out old items in TimeTabler before starting a new timetable ?
You do not need to clear out all your old data and start from scratch (unless you want to).
You can re-use your old data ... and save yourself a lot of time.
Most people use the following method:
1.
Take a Backup of your current data ... both externally (eg. on a memorystick or a CD, see page ix in the Manual, and help-movie number 9) and also in the internal AutoBackup Library (see help-movie number 9). This is so that you can return to the current timetable data if you need to.
2.
See the HelpMovie on this topic in this Support Centre. It is number 8 and is called "Tidying-up last year's data, ready to do a New schedule". This shows you the most efficient way.
Click here to view the full Menu of HelpMovies.
3.
Flowchart K13 in the TimeTabler Manual outlines how to delete your old schedules, and any unwanted batches, and then start editing your Basic Data and your Batches for the new timetable
4.
See also Sections D13 and D14 if you want to Re-use your Curriculum and/or Promote a Batch (eg. convert a Year 10 batch into a Year 11 batch).
5.
See also the advice given in the program itself, if you go (on the Menu bar) to "BasicData -> Start a New Year".
