How do I include a Registration or PSHE period on the timetable?

Registration or PSHE

  Q.    How can a Registration period [Tutor period, Form period] be included on the timetable ...when I don't know yet who the Tutors are going to be?

Or how can I include a fixed-time whole-school PSHE period on the timetable when I don't yet know who the PSHE tutors are going to be?  This isn't decided until I've finished the schedule!

  A.   There are 2 main ways:

1   One way is to include the Tutor periods when you set up the School Structure (see Section B in the Manual).
Then use the Class Availability Screen (see Section H14) [or the Shape Screen, see B6] to block off these periods temporarily while you are scheduling.
Or after you have started a schedule you can use the Class Timetable Screen (see Section F15)

Later, when you know who the Tutor is, after completing the schedule, you can unblock these periods (on the Class Timetable Screen, see Section F15).
Then you can assign 'lessons' with a Subject of 'Tutor Period' etc to these periods.

2   The alternative is to omit the Tutor periods altogether, initially ...and then when the schedule is complete, use "3-Check & Tidy-> Add a period" to add in the extra period each day (it must be the same period every day).

Then assign 'lessons' with a Subject of 'Tutor Period' or 'Registration' etc to these periods, as above.
There is more about this in the PDF which you can download from here.
