Using Teacher (or Room) Pools
Pools can be used to group together similar Teachers (or for Special Resources, or for Rooms). They are useful for subjects (or years) where you don't mind which teacher (from a select group of teachers) teaches this lesson.
Pools are denoted by an "=" (equals-sign) before their name.
For example 1:
-- You could specify a Pool of Art teachers, called: =Ar. You place all your (2 or 3 or more) Art teachers in this Pool.
-- Then specify an Art activity (2 singles) for 7A like: 7A SS =Ar
-- TimeTabler then knows that for these 2 lessons, it can use any of the Art teachers in the Pool (providing they are not already teaching, or otherwise unavailable in this period, of course).
For example 2:
-- With the same Art Pool, if you wanted 2 Art teachers from the Pool you could enter an activity like:
7AB DS =Ar =Ar
For example 3:
-- With the same Art Pool, if you wanted 2 Art teachers, and one of them had to be HLo, then you could enter: 7AB DS HLo =Ar
Notes:
-- For more details on Pools:
- see this article on Teacher Pools
- see the overview in HelpMovie 23
- ... with more details in your printed Manual in Section C20
- or see the PDF download here.
-- As well as Teachers/Staff, you can also use the idea of Pools with Special Resources or with Rooms (eg. if you have only a limited number of Labs).
