How can I work through the Tutorial without losing my current timetable data?

There are 2 ways you can do this ... the first way is the safest.

1.  Install a separate Tutorial version
Download a copy of the latest Tutorial version from our web-site by clicking here

and then choose 'Run' to install the software.
You can just accept the defaults offered to you during installation, in which case the Tutorial is installed to
C:\TT4Demo, which is a different place from your existing full version of TimeTabler, so that your school data will not be affected by the Tutorial data.

You will have two TT short-cuts on your desktop ...one for the full version and one for the Tutorial version ...so you just need to choose the correct one.

or

2.  Use your existing version of TimeTabler
In 3 steps (take care):

(i) Make a Backup of your existing data, using the Backup button on the opening screen.
This Backup can be (a) an external Backup on a memorystick or Dropbox etc [details on page viii in your Manual] or (b) an internal backup in the Auto-Backup Library [details in Section C15 of your Manual], or (c) both.

(ii) Then go to FileMenu->DemoData, which installs the Tutorial data [and writes over your existing school data] ...so you can then work through the Tutorial using the step-by-step Tutorial Booklet (which you can download from our web-site).

(iii) When you've finished the Tutorial then you should use the Backup file to Restore your school data [via FileMenu->TT-Restore, or via the Auto-Backup Library Restore] ...so then you can continue working on your timetable.
