Method for Special Schools & small Sixth Forms

Using TimeTabler in small schools, and ‘sixth forms’, Special Schools, PRU & Referral Units

There are two main methods that small or special schools often use to do their timetabling in TimeTabler :

     Method 1: ' Worked Example 1' in the Manual
In Section I of the Manual, Worked Example 1 explains how to use TimeTabler in small schools, including special schools, AP. PRU or Referral Units where students follow individual learning programmes.
This is a very powerful technique for small schools, and for schools with small ‘sixth forms’ (years 12/13).

     Method 2:  Primary model

Note 2:  Student timetables: 
The effect of ticking 'Student timetables' on the "Print -> Individual Staff Timetables" screen in TimeTabler, if you are using the 'Dickens' method, is as follows:
If you had a lesson where teacher KJo was teaching Physics in Room 12 to 3 students (represented by Special Resources) called aa,bb,cc:

KJo  Phys  Rm12
aa
bb
cc

… then ticking “Student Timetables”:
a) selects only the special resources (aa,bb,cc)
b) finds their details from their teacher … so aa will say he is learning Phys in Rm12.
