Working as an 'Administrator'
1) General Rule:
Q. Do I need 'Administrative Privileges' to install TimeTabler ?
A. No. You do not need Administrator's privileges in order to install TimeTabler.
Just log-on as the User before you install TimeTabler.
In addition you may have to make sure that the folder where TimeTabler is installed, and ALL its sub-folders, have both read and write permissions, as TimeTabler needs to be able to write data into files into those folders.
2) If you hit a problem:
Q. I am having difficulty because TimeTabler will only run if I am logged in as the Administrator.
A. Please do as follows:
-- 1. Remove the existing installation of TimeTabler.
By default it was installed at C:\TT4win and you can just delete the TT4win folder and everything in it.
[If you have already entered any data then make a Backup of this data first, via FileMenu -> Backup.]
-- 2. Log out as Administrator, so that you only have User rights.
-- 3. Use "Run as Administrator" to install the program.
To do this: find the TimeTabler Setup.EXE file that you downloaded, right-click on it and then select "Run as Administrator" [and then enter your Administrator details].
The program will then install within your limited User account, and you can run it from that User account.
[If you made a Backup at step 1 then use File Menu -> Restore to load in that data now.]
Please also make sure that the User has full permissions to read and write to the folder "C:\TT4Win" and all its files and sub-folders. This is needed so that the program can save its data.
