Emailing problem in StaffCover

Problem when Emailing

 Q    I am experiencing the following error message in StaffCover when I click the 'Send emails' button:  Error Message : Software caused connection abort


 A   There are several possible reasons - please try the following:

1) Check that you are able to successfully email from this PC, by emailing one of your colleagues manually.

2) Go to Customize -> Email set-up and try changing Pause between emails to 2 sec (for example). This will space-out your emails and may help.

3) From the same screen, try ticking New session every 5 emails - again this will space-out your emails.

4) Temporarily disable any firewalls you are using, or check their set-up to see if they are preventing your access for any reason.  Remember to restart the firewall afterwards.

5) Close down any other programs / applications you are running, in case they are interfering with your emails.

6) Check with your IT people whether your email client has any restrictions. For example, on the number of consecutive emails you can send.

7) If none of the above helps, try on a different PC/network (if you have one).
