Why should I Backup my data, and how often ?

Why should I Backup my Data ?
There are four main reasons you will want to regularly Backup your Data (in all our software):

Regular Backups:

1    For safety: if your computer crashes, - or if your school is attacked by ransomware - all your work is safe, and you can load it into a new / different computer.
So it's important to make such a Backup at key stages.
2    To keep a 'history': you can save up to 100 different versions of your timetables / schedules in the Auto-Backup Library ...so you can 'go back / re-visit' work you did in the past.

Ad-hoc Backups:

3    To transfer data between computers: you can save a Backup on one computer (eg: at school) and Restore that Backup into another computer (eg: at home).
(Providing you have a current Licence, it allows you to install a second copy of the software at Home.)
4    To send your Data to our Team: if you would like our Support Team to look at your work, you can save a Backup and send it to us.  We then see excactly what you are seeing.

How often should I Backup ?
We recommend every day during the timetabling season and also before and after you are about to make (or have made) any important changes.
Because if your PC or laptop has a problem, you don't want to lose any important work.

How to perform a Backup ?   There are two ways in which you can take Backups of your work/data in TimeTabler , Options or StaffCover - for details of how to use each method, click here.
