Starting tomorrow's Cover today

The 'Go to tomorrow' feature in StaffCover allows you to work on tomorrow's cover while it is still today ... so you are better prepared when you come in tomorrow morning.
As a rule, it is best to only use it if you have finished organising cover for today, and now wish to move over to tomorrow.   Although you can choose to return to 'today' if you need to.

Note: You don't need to use it if you are happy to wait until tomorrow morning before working on tomorrow's cover - in that case, just close StaffCover now, and then tomorrow morning open it again - you will automatically be moved to tomorrow.

Here are some common questions people ask about it:

 Q. How do I move to tomorrow ?

There are possible two ways:
-- a) Just exit and restart
StaffCover at any time after the 'Time tomorrow's cover begins' that you set at 'Customize -> Cover Options'.
or:
-- b) Click 'Go to Tomorrow' (at the top of the opening screen of StaffCover).

 Q. I moved to tomorrow, but now realise that I need to change something in today's cover - can I return to today ?

Yes - click 'Return to Today' (at the top of the opening screen of StaffCover).
Everything that you did while in 'tomorrow', will be undone, and you will be returned to looking at today's cover.

 Q. In StaffCover, I've set a time of 09.30 when the program will let me start looking at tomorrow's cover.
I did this at 'Customize -> Cover Options -> Time tomorrow's Cover begins'.
However, it's now 16.04 and it still hasn't asked me as it usually does.

You need to exit and restart StaffCover at any time after 09.30; you are only prompted to move to tomorrow when you start the program.
[which is also the time that the program archives the Cover for today, so that the statistics will be accurate].
Alternatively, just click 'Go to Tomorrow'.

 Q. How can I arrange some cover for tomorrow, but be able to add to it (or change some parts of it) when tomorrow arrives ?
You have 2 ways available to you for this:

1) Method 1: 'Go to tomorrow & Lock'
Use the "Go to tomorrow" feature to 'close today and move StaffCover to tomorrow' (see Appendix 1 in the manual for details).
After creating the cover, "Lock" it (by going to 'Cover -> Lock').  The word "LOCK" should appear in the footer of the opening screen.
Then when you come into school tomorrow, check that the footer still says "LOCK" - it should do.
Now add some extra absent teachers (into the "F4 - Absent Teachers" screen) and then press F5 to calculate the cover.
The locked cover should not have changed (assuming the teachers you chose to provide the cover, are not absent today ... and the people they are covering are still absent).

2) Method 2: 'Pre-book Cover'
An alternative method is to 'pre-book' the cover for tomorrow (for details, search on 'pre-booked' in our KnowledgeBase).
In this method, you do not use the "Go to tomorrow" feature ... instead you stay in 'today', but use Look-Ahead to (temporarily) visit tomorrow, where you setup your pre-booked cover.
But one thing to check: after you exit Look-Ahead and return to 'today', go to "Cover -> List Pre-booked covers" and check that the covers you have pre-booked are in the list.  If they are not, then something hasn't been done right in setting-up the pre-bookings.
