Getting Statistics correct when using StaffCover on 2 machines

Using StaffCover across 2 computers

 Q.   I work across two computers so I take a back up from one and restore to the other each time.
Yesterday I had to go back into the program at about 10am as a teacher went home.
This morning, when putting the cover in, I noticed that it has not updated the cover records for yesterday.  I did have to reset the day today because it still had teachers showing absent from the day before .  Is it something I am doing wrong?  Is there a way I can amend the cover done to make it right? As you can image the staff are very particular about how much cover they have done and I want to make sure I am fair to them all.

  A.   The Cover Statistics are updated when StaffCover sees the day change ... Monday's covers are added to the stats on Tuesday morning, Tuesday's covers are added to the stats on Wednesday morning, etc.  So you should be able to work on two computers, provided:
a) whenever you move from computer 'A' to computer 'B', you first take a backup from 'A' and restore it into 'B'.
b) you keep the dates/clocks on the two computers the same.

However, you mention that StaffCover "still had teachers showing absent from the day before" .. does this mean that you had set an "End date" of today, but the teachers were not deleted from the "Absent teachers" list ?   If so, this action is taken when you start StaffCover, so if you take a backup from computer 'A' on one day, but then don't restore into computer 'B' until the following day ... then I suggest you exit and restart StaffCover on computer 'B'.  ie: After restoring the data, give StaffCover a 'fresh start' on computer 'B'.  This should enable it to make any required deletions from the list.

I hope the above helps, but if all else fails, you can manually alter a teacher's cover parameters by going to "Customize -> Teacher details".
