Adding an Activity to a Batch
There are several types of Activity that you can add to a Batch, and these buttons (sometimes called the 'Activity Wizards') help you to add a particular type of Activity to your Curriculum Diagram:
Here is a brief description of the most common types:
Activity type | Notes / explanation |
Pure Class | Typically a simple lesson for a single Class (form or registration group) - eg: "7A History" |
Simple Block | A simple Block, such as an Options Block or a Block of Maths sets - eg: "5 Maths sets across Year 9" |
Container Block | A special type of Block that affords more flexibility and is useful in (for example) the Sixth Form of a British school. There is more information here. |
Meetings, etc | An activity that represents a Staff meeting or other non-contact time for your staff. These are often called 'Non-Teaching Activities' (NTA) and there is more information here. |
Consistent Grouping | This can be used to timetable consistently-setted groups or sets. There is more information here. |
IB (International Baccalaureate) | This can be scheduled using the advice here. |
